Band Namey meme

So, here's what you were supposed to do:

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random. The first article title on the page is the name of your band. Write it down.

2. Now point your trusty web browser towards http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3. The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album. Write it too down, not too large, not too small, somewhere in the same place as the name of your band. (Only kidding, just write it down however you want...)

3. Our third and last visit on the internet shall be http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/. The third picture, no matter what it is, and no matter how attractive the other pictures are, will be your album cover. Don't cheat on this one!

4. Lastly, open up your favourite graphics program and apply your editing skills to combine all three, and post the results.

I tried this, yesterday, to really abysmal results. So I decided that was not my day.

I tried again, and here's the results. The funny part is, Me'asha is the name of three RABBIS--but when I first read the entry I thought it said RABBITS. Hence, the picture is even funnier. Not to mention my childhood penchant for adopting pets.

I don't typically like memes about things like the New Year, since I think the Western New Year is kinda arbitrary and all. But I liked this one. Self reflection is good. :) Ganked from [info]merynetjeru.

Intrests Meme - Tagged by Merynetjeru

[info]merynetjeru darling tagged me. So here 'tis.

Dar Williams -- I love music, that's no surprise. The funny thing about Dar Williams is that she was a local singer/songwriter where I grew up, and I in fact knew people that knew her, and sat next to her at a play once. However, it wasn't until I was listening to FolkAlley.com years later, when I really had an "experience" with Dar. It was the song "After All". And since then, I've been hooked.

Gawain -- My freshman year of college I fell in love with Sir Gawain. I know it's silly, especially considering he's never treated the same in any instance. But he's usually from the Orkneys, and moody, and red-headed. What can I say? I'm also a huge fan of "Sir Gawaine and the Greene Knight". I still propose to write an Arthurian novel from Gawain's point of view.

Madeline L'Engle -- Sadly, though she recently passed away, Mrs. L'Engle had a huge impact on my life as a writer. I read her books in the third grade, well before I knew about Narnia or that Hobbits were in anything but silly Rankin-Bass movies. Her blending sci-fi and fantasy, her incredible voice and personality, not to mention that she was a SHE have stayed with me. Not to mention my crush on Calvin O'Keefe.

Middle English --  The language of Chaucer. The first time I read non-normalized Middle English I nearly passed out. I hated it. Now, gosh, it's music to my ears. A bit of French and garbled English with such poetry! I can read it easily now. Truly love it.

Quebec - My mom was a non-citizen until 1999, and was born in Cape de Madeleine, PQ. I've grown up with a huge fondness and pride in my Canadian heritage (her family, in fact, was one of the first to settle in the country in 1648). Whether it's St. Hubert's chicken, poutine, delicious chocolates, or just the feeling of being "home"--well, Quebec is it. I love the language and the history, and can't wait to show Michael and Liam someday.

Songwriting -- When I was 12 I started playing guitar. I also started writing songs. My first song was called "Never Had A Chance To Say Goodbye" and it was about Billy the Kid. It had two chords, Am and Em. I like to think I'm a tad more sophisticated these days, and have incorporated lots of fun ideas into my songwriting. Though I don't do it as much as I used to, I must have close to 100 songs all said and done.

They Might Be Giants -- When I was in high school, my friend Justin was obsessed with TMBG. I thought they must be kind of lame with a name like that, and plus--they didn't have a drummer! They used a drum machine! Justin dragged me to a concert, however, and my jaw probably was on the floor the entire time. It was fun, funky, delicious music. I was totally entranced, and fully thrilled. I also got to meet John Flansburgh afterward--who smelled very good. I even shook his hand and told him the show was awesome. :)
