Where there's a whip there's a way.

Well, the floor downstairs is finally done in the new house. That means the animals can once again return home. I have to admit, I miss them a whole lot--especially the doggy. I mean, on one hand it's nice not to have to worry about leaving food out (Calliope is a canine trash compactor)--but there's that special cuddly lovin' you can only get from a dog. And especially your dog in particular. We're so lucky that Callie is as good as she is.

Anyway, the floor--that's what I was talking about, right? Thanks in HUGE part to [info]borea and the husband (and his tools) the floor looks mahvelous. Sure, it isn't hardwood (it's Pergo)--but really, we didn't have a choice. You can't put hardwoods down over concrete. And like [info]czech said, there's a point where you can over-upgrade a place. I mean, the townhouse is lovely. But granite countertops and hardwood floors are just going a bit beyond the call. Not to mention, the Pergo looks really great. It warms up the room so much, and in a few weeks, there will be paint and tile and a whole bunch of fun, eccentric pretties (nudge to [info]merynetjeru).

We do still have a bit to do, mostly going back to the old place. But it's been a fun weekend so far. Liam's been a real darling. He's in a very affectionate stage right now, where he hugs everything. The cutest is his kissing Michael this morning, and tackling Pooh Bear before bed. Really gives a very visual meaning to the word "tacklehug".

Tomorrow I'm supposed to do some writing for the Thesis paper. And then I have to start thinking about the trip to California. Ah! So many things going on at once.

Tired? You betcha.
