We're moving in less than a week. And we've done just about NOTHING in preparation. I've always been a procrastinator, and I married one, so the combination? Not so good. Tomorrow we're having a "Packing Party"--we'll provide beer and pizza for anyone interested in helping us put our shit in boxes. HA!
I think the whole stress of moving has made me a little zany. It's even scared away my writer's brain--all my characters have scattered like cockroaches. My usual coping mechanism gone, I think I've taken on quirks. Last night I had whisky before bed, and as
merynetjeru
can attest, well, I went a bit cracked in the brain during some of our late night ramblings.
Oh yeah. And the weekend after we move I'm flying to California. And at the moment, I have a head cold.
HAH.

It's been a while since my last update, and it's not really surprising. As my husband was mentioning in his blog, it's been a crazy last month or so.
The hardest part is that my folks are gone for the entire month of July. So I'm on full-time mommy duty. And Liam's teething. And being ornery. Mom and Dad have each other when they watch Liam, so there's never a moment where he is "alone". With me--well, I have work to do. I have clients to call... and yesterday Liam screamed almost the entire day. It was so bad I drove to Raleigh to pick Michael up just to get some backup. Then on the way home, Liam vomited all over his brand-new carseat. And I mean vomit. Pools of the stuff.
I know I'm not Super Mom, but I'm just trying to hang on. There isn't time to do anything. And that's not to mention I've had about of insomnia, too. Even though I have medical options, I'm really not a fan. So you sleep all night, sure, but the next day you still feel like you haven't slept. What's the point of that?
Come August, I'm also going to start working a bunch more. Lisa at Write2Market is hiring me as an honest to goodness employee--so that means a regular paycheck and everything. And I don't have to worry about taxes. I'm really looking forward to that.
I should be writing, but with all the noise it hasn't been an option. Liam's favorite toys are the loudest ones, and I can't concentrate. But at least he's not screaming at the moment. For whatever reason he prefers his little pack and play to the huge hallway. I have half a mind to go out and get him a playpen...
I've been really bad about keeping up with people in general. But things have been so busy sometimes I realize I haven't even showered! Yuck. Lately I've been stalking Facebook because that's a quick easy way to see what people are up to. But not everyone's on there. So I dunno...
The plan for today? Well, writing would be nice. And showering. Yeah, that's the ticket!
